Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus, the Lord of Y2K (year 2000). Thank God, the end of all things has not taken place yet and we are still there to praise and serve God.

I want to break this long silence to say that the Lord has been good to us in the past few months, and Evangelist Stephen George has held several conventions and meetings in various parts of the U.S., under the auspices of Gideon Christian Fellowship of New Orleans, under the leadership of Apostle Willie F.Wooten. God has performed awesome wonders, saved, healed filled hundreds of people in the Holy Spirit the report of which we will share with you in the coming days. The devil tried to hurt us in several ways but the Hand of God sustained us and caused us to prevail.  Here is a report from Sister Neelam Benjamin, the wife of the President of Beam India, Pastor Anil Benjamin. The Vice President of Beam India (Pastor Jayant Davare of Pune, India was with us for about 2 months, with his wife Sister Evangeline, and God used them powerfully by His Holy Spirit to bless hundreds of lives during that time).

Greetings from the Georges and Andy in New Orleans.

Report from India

Dear praying friends.

We greet you with warm Zion blessings for a very happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Today as I flip through the pages of my son's children's Bible, my attention was drawn to psalm 18:19 which says, "He led me to a safe place. He did this because He loves me." I recalled the times how, during the bad weather, we would gather our son in our arms. His small understanding did not know that after the lighting, thunder and rains, the soil will get ready to bring forth a fresh crop. the same way during our testing times, God allowed us to learn, and grow, and become steady, sickness within, and dangers lingering around outside. Traps were laid, but we escaped.  Death came, but life prevailed. He anointed, comforted and encouraged us, and we found our safety in Him.

Sister Mavis and Brother Norris Backhouse are with us. Just as a sunbeam on a cold winter day, So have they spread the warm love of Jesus with their visit to India. Indeed they have been a beam of God's love to our nation. There has been unrest at different levels in the state of Gujarat. The Indian Government at present has shown concern for us. They have arranged, and given 24hrs police protection for some unknown reasons. This is a unique Christmas, though with cops around till the 4th of Jan. 2000. Great storms are hovering, but, the church is growing too. Please pray especially for south Gujarat, where our Beam India Churches are flourishing-also this is a target area for anti christian organizations. 24th Dec. is a marked night for them, please pray.

Sharon was very sick on the 15th Dec. 99. With fervent prayers of the church, is well now. Joshua is growing day by day. God has been good to us this whole year through. The Zion Church, as a whole, is growing, marching-pressing on towards the mark. In the following areas we saw Gods hand with us:

* God Strengthened and protected our family against all odds.
* God brought increase in the church.
* Hundreds of souls were saved in different parts of India, through outreach, crusades, seminars etc..
* Opening of Bible college.
* Pora project sanctions drawing closer to permission granted on stamp
paper.
* Three day women seminar at Bilaspur and Baroda went well.
* Children classes and programs was encouraging.
* Pastor seminar at several stations, went well.
* Orphanage is doing very well, the kids are a blessing to many.
* The old faithful jeep that took us thousands of km. with the gospel.

By God's grace we have entered the Millennium.  May God bless this year for you with His peace. "Our trials make us stronger," were the words Sharon heard clearly when she sat alone in a state of despair. She went around to see who spoke, but there was no one in sight.  Amazingly, on the same day (Jan. 4th 2000) at 11:30 pm while I prepared to do some writing, the Lord prompted me to go and read something to my daughter. A brother had sent a word of encouragement to us, when I read to Sharon, she sat up alert, and told me that these words were spokes to her this morning. So many of God's servants are going through trial and furnace. As humans we tend to get discouraged when we are at the end of the rope. We must look up with a positive attitude. God allows trials to make us stronger in Him and for His work. "Trials are that soil where faith grows and flourishes."  Through the ages, men and women stood as testimonies.  Ask God for perseverance as you press on towards the mark. Take courage from the cloud of witnesses in the word of God. It is the Holy Spirit that is the help and comfort all along. 1999 has been a crucial of my life. As a pastors wife, mother of two, with one child sick year around, all the chores that comes with a housewife, certain responsibilities for the orphanage, the Bible school-counseling, and also praying with those in need. The Church meetings were also to be constituted.   I thank the Lord for all these things, and I enjoy doing them all.  I do confess that it isn't easy all the time.  But I was in the school of the Holy Spirit. Through difficult times He taught me some very important lessons.  He will not allow us to go through the furnace, when His grace does not precede us. There are a few points to praise God for. The 24th of Dec. was rather peaceful in South Gujarat. Our Christmas was spent with peace, and joy. The police protection given to all the churches was beneficial. Our church youth and the kids of the orphanage shared testimonies with the cops. Deputed to keep the vigil for protection.  In fact they treated some of our sick kids, and also the wardens wife with fruits etc.. while we were gone for outreaches. God took care of us.

GOD BE GLORIFIED IN THE HIGHEST, AND AMONG MEN, NOW AND FOREVERMORE
